NYC Trip Update (1/23/15)

Dear Whalers,

We are in the process of finalizing plans for the band trip to New York City on Saturday, May 2, 2015. Many students put down their deposit on time by Thursday, January 15, and we are now sure that the trip can run. The final price will be locked-in soon but we do know that it will be between $200 and $225 as originally announced.

The payment structure for the trip is as follows:
  1. Students have already placed a $25 deposit on the trip. (There are still spots on the waiting list if anyone else would like to put down a deposit. We are working with the travel agency to see how many of the “waiting list” spots can be added to the trip at this point. Any people on the waiting list who do not get a seat on the trip will receive a full refund.) 
  2. For the months of February and March, there will be a $50 payment due on the first Thursday of the month. ($50 on February 5th and $50 on March 5) 
  3. The final trip payment is due on Thursday April 2. All trip balances must be paid in full by this time. The amount of this payment will vary depending upon how much the student has fundraised toward their trip. The payment could be as high as $75, or there may be no balance due at all by this point. Please see me if you have questions about this. 
  4. As in past years, fundraised money will be put towards a student’s trip last. This means that payments must be made by cash or check until there is enough in the student’s fundraising account to cover the balance of the trip. Once that occurs, the balanced may be transferred from the SFA and no more payments will be due for this event. Again, if you have questions about this process, please contact me individually. 
On the trip, we will be seeing the musical “Finding Neverland,” going on a tour of Radio City Music Hall, and eating dinner at either Hard Rock Cafe or Planet Hollywood, along with a few other activities.

Also, I am attaching the 2014-2015 NBHS Spring Band Schedule to this email. Please refer to the dates as there has been one change since this schedule was announced in the Fall. The NB All-City Band Festival will now be on Wednesday, arch 18, 2015 at 7pm. Students will report at 5pm for that event.
