Finish strong.

*Rehearsals are Tuesday and Wednesday this week.*

Dear Whalers,

There are three important subjects to go over this week.  Most importantly, this week is NESBA Championships!  Also, I have to share information with you about rehearsals, football playoffs, and our trip to Washington DC next April.

1) NESBA Championships are this weekend, so come to every rehearsal ready to give your all.  It's been a good season so far, but we need to step up our game if we want to put out the best show possible on Saturday.  Be awake and mentally prepared.  Be focused in rehearsal and performance in order to improve as much as humanly possible this week.

2) Upcoming rehearsals: We will rehearse on Tuesday and Wednesday this week in order to avoid rehearsing on Halloween.  We need everyone at rehearsal both nights in order to make rehearsal as effective as possible.  Also, please note that starting NEXT week, rehearsals will be shortened to 5:30pm-8:30pm since our competition season will be over. Rehearsals will remain that time until after the Holiday Vacation in December.

3) Football Playoffs have caught us a bit by surprise this year and have resulted in some changes to our upcoming schedule.  The next three Fridays (11/1, 11/8, and 11/15) will be playoff football games.  We do know that this Friday's game will be at Attleboro High School at 7:00pm Friday night.  Since this is such short notice, this performance will not be required for a grade, but we need every person who can possibly be there to come support our team.
For this and any other away Football games, we will function as a pep band only and will not march our field show.  Required dress for those games will be (NICE!) dark jeans and a red jacket/sweatshirt.  The football games on Friday 11/8 and 11/15 will be mandatory games no matter whether they are home or away.  If either or both of those games are at home, then we will march in full uniform and perform pre-game as well as our field show.
A field trip form for these games is linked here, and is included at the bottom of this page.

4) Washington DC Trip Update: We DO currently have enough students signed up to go on the trip so we are moving forward.  Anyone who put in a deposit now has another $75 due for the month of October.  October payments are due by Tuesday, November 5th and then each $75 monthly payment is due by the last Tuesday of the month until the student's trip is paid in full (minus fundraising).  Any payments remaining in the month of April must be made before we leave on the trip.

Your weekly sheet for this week is included below.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.  Let's make this Saturday one more day when it feels great to be a Whaler!

Yours in music,
Mr. Eric Drew
