NBHS Band Boosters Scholarship 2012

The New Bedford High School Band Boosters scholarship is open to any senior who has completed both their junior and senior years with the band throughout the fall and spring seasons.  The eligibility criteria and application process are oitlined below.  If you like, you can download the information by clicking on the link below.  Please email Mr. Drew if you have any questions (edrew@newbedfordschols.org).

SCHOLARSHIP NOTICE TO SENIOR NBHS BAND MEMBERS

Seniors interested in applying for a Band Scholarship shall apply in writing to the Band Director.  The application will consist of a letter submitted to the Band Director no later than May 18, 2012, that must include a discussion of how the Band Member has met the scholarship eligibility qualifications (set forth below), and the positive impact band participation has had on their experience at New Bedford High School.  An application will not be considered complete if the letter does not address all of the eligibility criteria below and the positive influence of Band Participation.

The Band Director will collect any applications received and forward them to the Scholarship Committee for review.  Seniors whose scholarship applications have been approved will be awarded their scholarship at the Music Department Banquet.  Scholarships will be limited to $300/student.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

1.        Applicant must have completed at least their Junior and Senior years in the Marching Band/Colorguard, including fall and spring performances and completed the requirements for concert band (instrumentalists only).

2.        Applicant must have actively participated in Band fundraising activities during his/her membership in the Band.

3.        Applicant must have been accepted as a full-time student at a post-secondary institution (college, university, or trade school) and must describe his/her goals for the future.
